Sue Tissue [ SLASH Magazine cover ]
Mark Vallen
Giclée Print 10 x 14 inches

This Giclée print is a perfect reproduction of the pencil drawing Vallen created as a cover illustration for the legendary SLASH Magazine. Printed in a limited edition of only 150 Prints, Vallen hand-signed and numbered each one. The image is printed on high quality Arches white paper, with a white border left around the artwork.

Sue Tissue was the lead singer for the band Suburban Lawns. Vallen's pencil drawing was released as a cover for SLASH magazine in 1979 (the first of two artworks he created as covers for the magazine). The drawing also ended up in the book, Hardcore California, a history of Punk and New Wave by Peter Belsito and Bob Davis. The Suburban Lawns were an edgy punk/pop outfit fronted by Tissue, whose quirky vocal style put the band on the forefront of the avant garde. Their underground hit single, Gidget goes to Hell typified their unique southern Californian sound.
